   Accountancy of capital groups
2010-05-31 

On Monday, May 31, FIMA and Ernst & Young, in cooperation with ACCA, organised a meeting, which took place in headquarters of The Polish Enterpreneurs Foundation. The topic of the seminar concerned: a very up-to-date subject

Changes in MSSF 3/MSR 27 and their practical influence on merger transactions of business units.

The meeting was led by Jarosław Olszewski, a speaker specialising in trainings on accountancy and finance in Ernst & Young. Participants gained practical knowledge on the use of the changed standards concerning settling of business units and consolidated financial reports. During the meeting both theoretical issues and practical examples were presented.

 

   Tax planning

On Wednesday, March 31 2010, members and associates of FIMA participated in a meeting in Park Hotel. It was devoted to the subject:

TAX PLANNING FOR COMPANY OWNERS AND MANAGERS

The seminar from the cycle "Effective enterprise management" was conducted by the experts from Tax Consulting Group from Ernst & Young:

Michał Thedy - Ernst & Young director
Rafał Garbarz - Ernst & Young manager

They discussed the issues concerning the possibilities of lowering the level of taxation in the company. The participants of the meeting got familiar with such topics as:

- using a holding company in a foreign jurisdiction

- using a partnership

- payment based on a resolution of the shareholders

- payment based on copyrights

- using manager partnership




 

   Crisis is over. What next?
2010-03-23 
Another meeting organised by FIMA took place on Tuesday, March 23rd 2010. It was held in the headquarters of The Polish Enterpreneurs Foundation in Szczecin. The subject:

"Crisis is over. What next?"

was presented by Jacek Wiśniewski – The Chief Economist of the Raiffeisen Bank Poland, a member of the prestigious Economic Council, which gives advice and opinions to the Polish Government.

Moreover, the participants of the meeting got to know the risks taken by banks when financing the business activities of companies. They were presented by Kamila Kasztelan – an expert from Raiffeisen Bank, The Director of the Region for Credit Risks of the Corporate Banking.

In addition, the activity of AMBER Business Angel Network was introduced.



 

   Summary of the 2009
2010-01-29 
A meeting summarizing the activity of FIMA - Financial Managers Association in 2009 took place on Friday, January 29th in Pomeranian Dukes' Castle. Members of the Association had an opportunity to participate in a carnival meeting and party together.

During the evening our guests tasted delicious meals prepared for the occassion and spent a wonderful time among colleagues. The highlight of the evening was the show: "All of the Shakespeare's plays(in a slightly shortened version)" presented by outstanding actors from Szczecin. During the play our members were pulled into the show and also participated in creating the hilarious atmosphere.

We would like to thank our guests for coming and playing together!



 

   Taxes and Funds of the EU

Another theme meeting of FIMA mambers and associates took place on Wednesday , December 9th 2009 in Park Hotel, Szczecin. It concerned following subjects:

1. THE MOST IMPORTANT CHANGES IN TAX REGULATIONS

2. EUROPEAN FUNDS AVAILABLE IN 2010

The participants got aquainted with current issues concerning those areas. The topics were presented by:

Michał Skwierzyński - manager in tax allowance and investment subsidies group in Ernst & Young



 

   Misappropriation - a new danger for Polish companies
2009-11-19 
On Thursday, November 19th in Park Hotel, we organised a business breakfast in association with Euler Hermes and Licensed Insolvency Practitioners PMR. The aim of the meeting was to introduce the problem of

MISAPPROPRIATION – A NEW DANGER FOR POLISH COMPANIES

The lecturers of this meeting were:
  • Bartosz Pikuła – Lawyer, Manager of the Insurance Office for the Risk of Misappropriation in Euler Hermes
  • Andrzej E. Malinowski – Chairman of the Licensed Insolvency Practitioners PMR
  • During the meeting the participants got familiarized with the dangers related with following issues:
    - misappropriation of workers
    - economic abuse
    - problems concerning recovering charges

    Ways of preventing the consequences of those actions and possibilities of regaining the losses were presented. The speakers also talked about identyfying risks, and presented legal forms of protecting the company from harmful actions of its debtors.


     

       Effective organization of work and self-management

    Place: SWEDWOOD POLAND Training Center in Pogorzelica
    The skill training concentrated on followinf subjects:

    EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATION OF WORK AND SELF-MANAGEMENT

    The seminar was held by dr Aneta Strzępek – VIDI trainer – Staff Development Center, who conducts trainings developing: interpersonal relations, assertiveness, stress-management, communication and staff management skills.

    During the training the following topics were discussed: setting priorities at work, asertiveness and delegation, self-analysis and „time thieves”. Issues of self motivation and effective meetings and phone conversations were discussed. Finally the partakers found out how to set milestones in their lives.




     

       Initiative for the enterprising
    2009-09-28 
    After the summer holiday break, the first meeting of the new season was held in Park Hotel, Szczecin. It was co-organized by Financial Managers Association. The main theme of the conference, which was a part of the INITIATIVE FOR THE ENTERPRISING project, were

    EU SUBSIDIES FOR ENTERPRENEURS FROM THE OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME "INNOVATIVE ECONOMY"

    The representatives of Raiffeisen Bank Poland, Fundation of Economic Education, Microsoft Ltd., PNO Consultants Ltd. and the guests from the institutions responsible for implementation of EU funds for Polish enterpreneurs were the speakers at the meeting.

    During the conference, the members and associates of FIMA learned about the possibilities that EU funds create for financing, implementation of new technologies and innovations.


     

       Business Interruption

    The speakers discussed the issues related with:

    BUSINESS INTERRUPTION IN THE COMPANY

    The participants of the meeting had the chance to learn more about insurance audit, types of business interruption insurances, and get to know the alternatives for Business Interruption insurance.

    The meeting was enriched by participation of dr M. Juraszek, who gave advice as to how to properly prepare for and use the holiday time.

    Another meeting organised by FIMA will be held after the summer break.


     

       Misappropriation risk management and self-presentation
    2009-05-21 
    Another meeting from the risk management cycle was held in Park Hotel on Thursday, May 21st. This time the main topic of the meeting was devoted to

    MISAPPROPRIATION RISK MANAGEMENT

    Mr Bartosz Pikuła - Chief of the Euler Hermes Misappropriation Risk Insurance Office, talked about how to efficiently protect the company from risks and consequences of employee abuse.

    During the meeting we also took care of participants' personal development and along with Mrs. Katarzyna Kulej - Business Trainer of Polkadr Consulting Group, we presented a few ways to succesfully present oneself during contacts with others.

    The seminar was combined with General Meeting of Association Members.
